The State of Black Men in America: Six Faces of Being a Black Man
On behalf of the Princeton University Black Men's Awareness Group, we would like to thank you for participating in the 2007 State of Black Men in America conference. This year’s conference has set the stage for what we hope will becoem the premier forum on issues facing men of the African Diaspora in the United States.
The conference attracted 400 attendees from 36 colleges and a variety of organization, institutions and companies and brought together 42 scholars, civil leaders, community activists, and religious leaders to tackle issues ranging from fatherhood to mental health, economic empowerment and religiosity.
From the panels and discussions to the networking opportunities and town hall meeting, we hope you were engaged by the conversations we began last weekend. At the conference, we demonstrated the ability and passion to tackle the issues that are affect our communities. Now, all we need is action. Take charge in your homes, schools, and communities to move forward from where we ended last Saturday. Where we go from here is up to you.
