Restrictions

The main restriction of the interface program is the number of grid points which make up the model. For superelement solutions this is the number of grid points in an individual superelement. The size of internal arrays used to store grid point information is dependant on the core available.

Your FEMVIEW distributor can inform you of the maximum number of grid points permitted at your installation.

The NASTRAN facility to restrict output (e.g. to the line printer) also applies to the data blocks generated; it should not be used with nodal result sets e.g. displacements.

Care should be taken with subcase numbers with solutions involving cyclic symmetry or when NASTRAN grid point stress are to be processed so that loadcase names produced do not exceed 6 characters as this may produce conflict in loadcase names.
