Six Figure Element and Grid Point Numbers

At present FEMVIEW only accepts five figure element and grid point numbers. To allow NASTRAN models containing six figure element and or grid point numbers to be displayed, the element or grid point numbers have to be altered. This task is performed automatically by the interface program.

If six figure element numbers are encountered alternative numbers starting from 1 are assigned sequentially to each element as found in the element list when processing the topology.

If the model contains six figure grid points then the grid points are renumbered sequentially starting at one.

If either condition occurs the mapping from the numbers used to define the FEMVIEW model to the user defined numbers are written to the Monitor file in a form suitable for listing on a line printer.
