Bio
Anne Jarvis was appointed university librarian at Princeton University in October 2016. Princeton University Library (PUL) is one of the world’s foremost research libraries, consisting of the Harvey S. Firestone Library and nine branch libraries.
Jarvis came from the University of Cambridge, England, where she worked as deputy librarian for nine years and then as university librarian for a further seven years. She was the first female university librarian in Cambridge’s 800-year history.
A native of Ireland, Jarvis holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Trinity College, Dublin, a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Studies from University College Dublin, a master’s degree in Communication and Cultural Studies from Dublin City University and a Master of Arts from the University of Cambridge. Whilst working in Cambridge she was a fellow of Wolfson College, where she served as vice president from 2006 to 2009.
