Two Princeton University faculty members and one University alumnus are among 36 new members recently elected to the American Philosophical Society (APS), the nation’s oldest scholarly organization.
Nancy Weiss Malkiel, professor of history, emeritus, and David Cannadine, the Dodge Professor of History at Princeton, were inducted into APS’ humanities class.
David Donoho, the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor in the Humanities and Sciences and professor of statistics at Stanford University who is a member of Princeton’s Class of 1978, was inducted into the class representing mathematical and physical sciences.
Candidates for APS membership are nominated by existing members and elected for extraordinary accomplishments in their fields.
