Marna Seltzer, director of Princeton University Concerts, has been recognized by Musical America Worldwide as one of its "Movers & Shapers: Top 30 Professionals of the Year."
This distinction, presented annually by the organization that has served as the voice of the performing arts industry for over a century, selects individuals who are transforming and "shaping programs, practices and perceptions of the performing arts."
Seltzer was recognized for her innovative contributions to the presentation of classical chamber music, including the PUC125: Performances Up Close series that seats the audience onstage alongside the musicians in intimate hour-long performances, as well as the Creative Reactions Contest, a creative writing contest that invites students to submit a written response to the experience of hearing live chamber music for a cash prize. The contest also includes a visual arts category.
