Six Princeton University professors were among 164 influential artists, scientists, scholars, authors and institutional leaders inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences Oct. 11. The inductees from Princeton are: Neta Bahcall(Link is external), the Eugene Higgins Professor of Astronomy and professor of astrophysical sciences(Link is external); Charles Cameron(Link is external), professor of politics(Link is external) and public affairs(Link is external); Janet Currie(Link is external), the Henry Putnam Professor of Economics(Link is external) and Public Affairs and chair of economics; David Gabai(Link is external), the Hughes-Rogers Professor of Mathematics(Link is external) and department chair; Susan Naquin(Link is external), professor of history(Link is external) and East Asian studies(Link is external), emeritus; and Robert Socolow(Link is external), professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering(Link is external), emeritus. Founded in 1780, the academy is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious learned societies.
