'A New Way to Hire Tigers'

The Office of Career Services' inaugural HireTigers Meetup, which was held on Sept. 19, allowed students and employers to foster new and different connections in a more informal environment than past.

On a recent sunny Friday, hundreds of Princeton University students mingled with employers representing a variety of fields under a large tent behind the Office of Career Services. The inaugural HireTigers Meetup was an alternative to traditional career fairs as Career Services reimagines its programs to foster new and more meaningful connections between students and employers.

Student work: 'Princeton Against Meningitis Part Two' .

Princeton students talk about the importance of the second meningitis B vaccine. A second dose of the vaccine will be available for eligible groups from noon to 8 p.m. Feb. 17-20 in the Frist Campus Center. Two doses are needed for maximum protection. Student work: 'Great Expectations' .

Take a look behind the scenes as the student cast prepares for a Princeton production of "Great Expectations," Charles Dickens' beloved coming-of-age epic. Directed by Tim Vasen, director of the Program in Theater, the play will feature senior Peter Giovine as Pip with senior Emma Boettcher serving as dramaturg. The production will be performed at 8 p.m. Feb. 14-15 and 20-22 Matthews '53 Acting Studio. Tickets are available through University Ticketing.

Teacher. Adviser. Mentor. Professor David Spergel, a member of Princeton's class of 1982, has carried those titles for a generation of Princeton undergraduates. Jared Crooks, who graduated this May with a degree in astrophysical sciences, knows how special it is to work closely with Spergel. "Thank you," he says to Spergel, the Charles A. Young Professor of Astronomy on the Class of 1897 Foundation, professor of astrophysical sciences and chair of the Department of Astrophysical Sciences. "Your openness, strength and wisdom have been fundamental to my time at Princeton."

Toni Morrison papers to reside at Princeton .

The papers of Nobel laureate Toni Morrison are now part of the permanent library collections of Princeton University, where the renowned author served on the faculty for 17 years.

Nearly 45 future leaders from countries across the African continent were reunited at a five-day retreat and conference in August held in part on the Princeton University campus. They are all alumni of the African Leadership Academy, in Johannesburg, South Africa, which chose Princeton for its inaugural "indaba," or gathering. A video documenting the indaba shows the participants' reactions to the outdoor experiential education activities and workshops at Princeton-Blairstown Center.
