The academic year at Princeton starts in the warmth of September as new and returning students come to campus full of aspirations. Over the next several months, the campus is a hive of activity, as students study, pursue extracurricular interests and build friendships. In June, under the shady trees in front of Nassau Hall, the year comes to a close as new graduates leave campus and head out into the world.
This video is a celebration of the 2012-13 academic year, with highlights bookended by fall's Opening Exercises and spring's 266th Commencement.
It spotlights the year's key events, including annual traditions such as Cane Spree, Clash of the Colleges and graduation ceremonies, and celebrates athletic championships, arts performances, conferences and festivals. It captures historic moments that will forever define this unique year, most notably the retirement of President Shirley M. Tilghman and the naming of her successor, Christopher L. Eisgruber.
The video is set to a soundtrack with music from a Taiko drumming class, the Princeton University Band and the Princeton University Orchestra.
