At a media conference following his appointment as Princeton University's 20th president, Christopher L. Eisgruber said it will be an honor to lead the University that has shaped his life ever since he was a Princeton freshman 34 years ago.

Princeton University Bonfire 2013 .

For the second straight year, Princeton celebrated football victories over Harvard and Yale with a bonfire, a tradition that goes back to the late 1800s. President Christopher L. Eisgruber, football coach Bob Surace, players and others addressed the crowd huddled around Cannon Green on Sunday evening, Nov. 24. Under the supervision of town of Princeton firefighters, a pyre of pallets was lit and blazed brightly as students cheered.

Members of the community will have an opportunity to greet President-elect Christopher L. Eisgruber from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, under the tent on Alexander Beach. Refreshments will be available.
