Creativity is a passion for Princeton seniors Gary Fox and Anna Wuttig — as scientists and as artists. When not in the lab, they are immersed in the arts. Fox and Wuttig have successfully found a way to share the stage in pursuing both art and science at Princeton. They are bringing their talents to the fore in "Der Bourgeois Bigwig," an adaptation of the 17th-century Molière comedy "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme," playing through Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Berlind Theatre, McCarter Theatre Center.

The stage is a classroom for Princeton students honing their skills in French and acting. Since 2001, students have developed their fascination for French language and culture by learning and performing classic French plays under the guidance of Florent Masse, a senior lecturer in the Department of French and Italian.

Performing opera at Princeton .

For students who want to study and perform opera, coming to Princeton University allows them to pursue their musical interests while broadening their intellect with a liberal arts education. A wide variety of opera styles are studied and performed by Princeton students, and early opera (especially from the Baroque period) is a particular strength that has emerged from the Department of Music.

The Princeton University Program in Theater, in partnership with Community House and the Community-Based Learning Initiative, is offering the course "Devising Theater With Youth" this semester as part of a continuing effort to expose students to the broadest possible range of performance theory and practice. This course serves as an example of the Lewis Center for the Arts' commitment to encouraging undergraduates to think critically about the role of the arts in community and civic engagement.

'David Dobkin: Amateur Artist' .

This video features a unique exhibition of sculptures, photo collages and site-specific installations by Princeton University Dean of the Faculty David Dobkin, a self-identified amateur artist who collects and creatively repurposes a vast array of things from daily life. The exhibition, presented by the Lewis Center for the Arts and titled "Myself, I Think We Should Keep Collecting Titles," is on display through Oct. 4 at the Lucas Gallery at 185 Nassau St.
