Princeton's Glee Club

One afternoon in April, 89 students in Princeton's Glee Club gathered to rehearse a Bulgarian folk song that tells the story of a girl trying to get the attention of a shy boy.

The Princeton University Glee Club, which performs a repertoire of sacred and secular choral music from the Renaissance to the present day, allows students with a wide range of nationalities, majors and skills to participate in a shared passion — singing. In a video about the Glee Club, 89 students gathered one warm April afternoon to rehearse "Sednalo e Djore Dos," a Bulgarian folk song that tells the story of an outgoing girl trying to get the attention of a shy boy.

Princeton junior and music major Tanyaradzwa Ashleigh Tawengwa, a 2012 recipient of an Alex Adam '07 Award from Princeton's Lewis Center for the Arts, spent last summer in her native Zimbabwe studying ethnomusicology and recording a CD, which hit the pop charts. This video feature chronicles how she has embraced numerous performance opportunities at Princeton — and found her own voice.

Princeton Professor Chang-rae Lee -- regarded as one of the most talented novelists of his generation -- painstakingly composes every sentence of his works, revising each one 10 or 20 times, not moving on until he is satisfied.

Princeton grad student Julian Chehirian will exhibit at the Venice Biennale .
