Bill T. Jones's 'Continuous Creation'

Director and choreographer Bill T. Jones will discuss his seminal dance work and lead an open rehearsal with Princeton students Jan. 18 in the Stewart Theater.

In the culmination of months of rehearsal -- highlighted by a unique opportunity to engage with an internationally celebrated choreographer -- more than 50 students from a range of academic departments will perform this month in the 2011 Spring Dance Festival presented by the University's Lewis Center for the Arts.

All semester, professional choreographers and more than 60 Princeton students have been preparing for the annual Princeton Dance Festival, which takes place Dec. 4-6 at the Berlind Theatre at McCarter Theatre Center.

University to celebrate King's legacy .

Princeton University will commemorate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with its annual King Day celebration Monday, Jan. 17, in Richardson Auditorium of Alexander Hall. Doors open at 1 p.m. The keynote address will be delivered by Van Jones, an environmental activist, social entrepreneur and former White House adviser who is a visiting fellow at Princeton.

Art of Science 2010 .

This year's "Art of Science" exhibition was launched with an original score by Miracles of Modern Science, an orchestral rock band composed of recent Princeton alumni.

Why do we dance? Four students, four perspectives .

Imagine four dancers in a studio. Each has a different story that brought them into the dance community at Princeton University; each has a different major and different career aspirations. All have been rehearsing since September four to five hours weekly in preparation for the Lewis Center for the Arts' 2015 Spring Dance Festival. They are among over 50 Princeton undergraduates who will appear in the festival.

Music theater program combines collaboration and creativity .

Princeton's new Program in Music Theater, established in collaboration with the Program in Theater, the Program in Dance and the Department of Music, will support and develop students' engagement with music theater as both an artistic practice and a field of scholarly study. In addition to their major, students can earn a certificate in music theater, culminating in a senior thesis project, or they can just take one class or more.

Festival of the Arts brings together community, campus to fête new Lewis Arts complex .

During a four-day Festival of the Arts, Oct. 5-8, Princeton University celebrated the opening of the new Lewis Arts complex with more than 100 events, taking audiences on a journey of the arts through the ages and around the world.
