"Call+Response," a documentary about modern-day slavery featuring Princeton Professor Cornel West, will be shown at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, in McCosh 50.
The film, which investigates the current slave trade in Cambodia, India and other countries, features performances by Moby, Natasha Bedingfield, Cold War Kids, Matisyahu, Imogen Heap, Talib Kweli and other musical artists. West, the Class of 1943 University Professor in the Center for African American Studies, appears in the film to discuss the historical connections between slavery and music.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion of the film with West; Justin Dillon, the film's director; and Benjamin Skinner, a journalist who writes about slavery.
The event is sponsored by the Center for African American Studies, the Office of Religious Life, the Program in the Study of Women and Gender, and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
