Steven Healy, Princeton's director of public safety, has been named one of the top 25 people in the security industry by Security magazine.
He was cited for his role as a pioneer for campus safety. Healy began working in higher education in 1995 as associate director of public safety at Syracuse University. In 1999, he became chief of police at Wellesley College, where he served until coming to Princeton in 2003. He is immediate past president of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators.
"For the past 12 years, I have dedicated my life to improving the capacity of campus public safety agencies to fulfill their critical mission of creating safe college and university campuses," he said in the magazine. "I have not only focused on enhancing safety on my own campuses, but also on sharing my knowledge, experience and networks with my colleagues around the world."
