Clarence Rowley, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace
engineering, is a recipient of funding from the U.S. Air Force’s Young
Investigators Research Program.
Rowley will study unsteady aerodynamic models for flight control of agile micro air vehicles.
The Air Force Office of Scientific Research will award approximately
$6.3 million in grants to 21 scientists and engineers out of the 145
funding proposals the agency received this year.
Grant recipients must show exceptional ability and promise for
conducting basic research. The program supports scientists and
engineers who have received Ph.D. or equivalent degrees in the last
five years. A 1995 Princeton graduate, Rowley received his Ph.D. in
2002 from the California Institute of Technology. He joined the faculty
in 2001.
