Montero honored by YWCA

Joy Montero, associate dean for student life in the Office of the Dean of the Graduate School, is among 14 women from local businesses, organizations and educational institutions who will be honored at the annual YWCA Princeton's Tribute to Women Achievement Awards dinner Wednesday, March 9.

The program was established by the YWCA to honor women who have demonstrated exceptional talent and a high level of leadership in their chosen field and who have made significant contributions to their professions.

Montero has been a member of the Graduate School staff 1986.

Elizabeth Boluch Wood, assistant vice president of development for capital giving and a major architect of the University's $1.75 billion Aspire Campaign, has been named Princeton University's vice president for development, effective March 1. She succeeds Brian J. McDonald, who has led the University's fundraising efforts since 2002.

Rupp and Levinson to be honored with alumni awards .

Two Princeton graduates -- George Rupp, president and chief executive officer of the International Rescue Committee, and Arthur Levinson, president and chief executive officer of Genentech -- have been selected as the 2006 recipients of the University's top honors for alumni.

Princeton receives national award for outstanding commitments to diversity and inclusion .

The Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award recognizes a comprehensive approach to recruiting and supporting a diverse range of students, faculty and staff.

Nobel laureate Stiglitz keynotes conference, Feb. 14 .

Joseph Stiglitz, a winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in economics, will present the keynote address during a gathering of university presidents from around the world on Princeton's campus Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 14-15. Stiglitz, a University Professor at Columbia University, will speak at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall.

Service Recognition Luncheon honors Princeton employees for long service, special achievement and management leadership .

After a three-year-hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jadwin Gym was again bursting with pride during the Service Recognition Luncheon on April 5, the annual tradition celebrating Princeton employee service and achievement. There were 478 employees service honorees, along with six staff members who were named as President’s Achievement Award recipients and two employees who received the Donald Griffin ’23 Management Award.

Five Princeton University staff members were recognized for their commitment to excellence and exceptional performance during the annual Service Recognition Luncheon on March 29 in Jadwin Gymnasium. In addition, two staff members were honored for their leadership potential.

Betterton announces plans to retire, Moscato to become financial aid director .

Don Betterton, Princeton's longtime director of undergraduate financial aid, will retire on June 30 and will be succeeded by Robin Moscato, a 23-year member of his staff.
