Five Princeton tigers are part of the U.S. team competing in the International Lacrosse Federation World Championships in Perth, Australia. The team will face Canada for the championship title, beginning 3 p.m. Australia time, 3 a.m. Eastern time, on Sunday, July 14.
Ryan Boyle , a member of Princeton's class of 2004 and the 2002 Ivy League Player of the Year, has had at least four points in each of the five games the U.S. team has played at the World Championships.
Boyle's teammates in Perth include Princeton alumni Kevin Lowe '94, Trevor Tierney '01, Matt Striebel '01 and Ryan Mollett '01.
In their semifinal game Friday, July 12, the U.S. team defeated the Iroquois Nationals , 18-8. The Iroquois team, whose ancestors developed the game of lacrosse, is the only Native American team sanctioned to compete in any sport internationally.
