AI Lab Distinguished Lecturer Series: Why We Can’t Understand AI Using Our Existing Vocabulary
As AI advances beyond human understanding, our current vocabulary is inadequate to grasp how it works. We need neologisms—new words that capture concepts we want to teach machines or need to learn from them. Creating new words has always been a natural process. Successful neologisms strike a balance between being detailed enough for precision and broad enough for versatility. By expanding our language, we ensure humans evolve alongside AI, not left behind.
