SoA Open House Lecture: Cameron Wu
Lines of Development
Fall Open House Lecture from Cameron Wu
Monday, October 28, 6pm
Betts Auditorium, School of Architecture
Cameron Wu is Assistant Professor at the Princeton University School of Architecture (SoA), where he currently serves as the Arthur H. Scribner Bicentennial Preceptor. He teaches Core Design studios and courses in architectural geometry and representation. His independent architectural practice engages with typological and formal analysis of historical precedents coupled with ongoing research, design, and construction with developable and ruled surface geometries.
His recent book, Lines of Development: Analysis, Geometry, Architecture (ACTAR Publishers, 2024) traces the disciplinary use of ruled surfaces in architecture, including formal analyses of historical and contemporary precedents. Combinatory geometric techniques are additionally presented as a methodological primer for a series of design projects using ruled and developable surfaces. He is the author of numerous journal articles and reviews, most recently including, “Sphere of Influence” (Log 61, Summer 2024), “Misrepresenting the Plan” (Discourse: Representation, Princeton SoA/Princeton University Press, 2025), and “Form, Words, and Artificial Intelligence (Log 59, Fall 2023).
Prior to teaching at the Princeton SoA, Wu was an Associate Professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He received his B.S.E. in Civil Engineering from Princeton University and his Master in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
