Princeton Partners in Health Engage

Come out to Princeton Partners in Health Engage's first open house meeting!

About PIHE:
Partners in Health Engage is an affiliate chapter of the national Partners in Health (PIH) organization. PIH is a non-profit committed to the idea that health is a human right. PIH collaborates with national governments worldwide to provide care and strengthen public health systems in areas including cancer and chronic disease, child health, emergency response, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, and tuberculosis. At Princeton PIH Engage, we will meet with local and national government leaders to share lessons, stories, and positive results from PIH sites and to champion legislation that eliminates barriers to care. Additionally, we will plan and host fundraising events and campaigns to ensure PIH continues to have the resources to prevent preventable deaths and deliver high-quality health care in some of the world’s poorest places. Furthermore, we will host and participate in curricula, webinars, discussions, and events that raise awareness about the systemic inequities that lead to poor health outcomes in impoverished countries, and much more!

This year, the PIHE national campaign is diving deep into all things tuberculosis, and the legislation that the national network will be advocating for this year is the “End Tuberculosis Now Act!” This is a bipartisan and bicameral bill that seeks to implement programs for the global prevention, treatment, and eradication of tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is the leading infectious killer in the world, and 3000-4000 die from it every day, but we have the cure to prevent and treat it!—we just need to mobilize our resources to do so! Our fundraising campaigns will also revolve around providing support to tuberculosis centers in impoverished areas around the world.
