Creative Commons For Everyone: Copyright, Open Licenses, and Reuse
Creative Commons (or “CC”) licenses empower authors to share their work openly while maintaining copyright and some basic control of downstream reuse. While the logos have become a familiar part of scholarship, understanding clearly what they do and do not do can still be difficult.
In this session, we’ll go over the different licenses, use cases for each, and common misconceptions about how they work. We’ll also discuss how to reuse openly licensed works in your own projects, and cover resources for finding open materials.
