The Federal Small Business Innovation Research(Link is external) (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer(Link is external) (STTR) programs are a critical source of non-dilutive financing for early-stage companies. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) SBIR Development Center(Link is external) provides funding, networking, and mentoring support for small businesses developing innovative cancer technologies.In fiscal year 2022, NCI SBIR will provide $182 million to small businesses to translate their innovation from lab to market.  

Join Princeton Innovation Center BioLabs(Link is external), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) SBIR Development Center(Link is external), the New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology(Link is external), and the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council, for a free program about funding opportunities available through the NCI SBIR Development Center. 

NCI SBIR Director Michael Weingarten(Link is external) and Program Director Monique Pond(Link is external) will discuss fundamental information on NCI SBIR/STTR funding, as well as commercialization resources and application tips. Judith Sheft(Link is external), executive director of the New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology, will moderate the event.

• SBIR/STTR eligibility requirements
• NIH SBIR/STTR process and new cancer-focused funding opportunities from NCI
• NCI SBIR/STTR initiatives such as the I-Corps at NIH Entrepreneurship Program(Link is external), Applicant Assistant Program(Link is external), etc.
• NCI Investor Initiative(Link is external) to help NCI SBIR-funding companies to connect with investors, venture capitalists, strategic partners, and business leaders from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries
• Practical strategies on how to successfully submit competitive research proposals
