Title: Of Roads and Homes--Time: 7:00 PM--Date: 11/9/2018--Location: Richardson Auditorium---Description: Of Roads and Homes is a moving musical performance, with narration, composed by Kinan Abou-Afach, commissioned by Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture and premiered in Philadelphia in March 2018 with a concert and CD release. Joined by Al-Bustan Ensemble, Abou-afach¿s work takes inspiration from stories of 12 individuals and their families documented in (DIS)PLACED: Philadelphia | Expressions of Identity in Transition. It is a meditation on themes of home, displacement, and exile, past and present, in America, the Middle East, and beyond.---This event is open to the public.
