Roomful of Teeth
The Princeton University Glee Club and Chamber Choir join the GRAMMY-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth in concert.
Roomful of Teeth have strong connections with Princeton University. Graduate composer Caroline Shaw is a founding member of the ensemble, and her Pulitzer Prize-winning Partita for 8 Voices will be featured on this program. The Glee Club will open the performance with music from Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles, a work reflecting on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage across northern Spain, which the Glee Club will perform on tour in Santiago this winter. Following this, Roomful of Teeth will perform an hour-long set, before the two ensembles come together for a performance of Merrill Garbus’ Quizassa.
This concert will be the culminating event of Roomful of Teeth’s mini-residency at the Princeton University Department of Music, in which Princeton University undergraduate composers will get a precious chance to workshop their own compositions created specially for the group. The workshop will take place Friday, December 8, 2017 at 7:30pm in Taplin Auditorium (Fine Hall), and is free and open to the public.
