Here Bill Jordan is shown at the helm of our
Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition
system. The PE-CVD is the core of our lab. It has three deposition chambers and
a load lock. We keep upgrading it to the state of the art. It
is used by members of several research groups, and by industrial associates.
The deposition lab lies next door to the
PRISM
Micro/Nano Fabrication Laboratory. This combination of silicon
thin-film growth with a Clean Room user facility lets us do experiments
can do and make devices that few other university labs can make.
We also have our own lab for deposition of metal films, a
lab for the evaluation of the optical and electrical properties of thin
films, and a lab for optical and electrical characterization of
devices. We use labs of other research groups, for
mechanical deformation and testing, for printing experiments, and for
making elastomer substrates. We also make good use of the Imaging
and Analysis Center of PRISM. Princeton is a very
collaborative university, and students have access to labs in many departments. |
