Please come by and talk to me in person about possible
projects.
Graduate Students
Please come by and talk to me about working with me on a PhD
thesis. It would be useful for you to look over my research description and
recent papers to get a sense of my current interests. If you are considering
switching from a previously intended subfield to condensed matter theory I
would recommend doing this sooner rather than later. Condensed matter
physics is a fairly diverse subject and a longer immersion in its lore is
worth a great deal.
In 2009-2010 I am advising two students: Chris Laumann (will
graduate in 2010) and Sid Parameswaran.
My previous students have been Donald Priour (Assistant Professor, U
of Missouri, Kansas City), John Naud (Citadel Group), Shoibal
Chakravarty (Postdoctoral fellow Princeton Environmental Institute), Kumar Raman
(Postdoctoral fellow at UIUC and now at UCR), Karol Gregor (Postdoctoral
fellow at Caltech in Physics and now NYU in Machine Learning) and Fiona Burnell
(Postdoctoral fellow, All Souls College, Oxford).
Post-doctoral Fellows
If you are interested in coming to Princeton please apply
through the Departmental website and if you have a special interest in
working with me let me know directly
email. You can also be nominated for a PCTS fellowship.
Fall 2010: Unfortunately, I do not have funds for a position
in my group.
I enjoy working with postdoctoral fellows in our group.
During their time at Princeton, I've worked with Kun Yang (faculty at FSU/NHMFL),
Denise Freed (Schlumberger-Doll Research), Roderich Moessner (Director,
MPI-PKS, Dresden), Oleg Tchernyshyov (faculty, Johns Hopkins), Matthew Hastings (staff,
Station Q), Iddo Ussishkin (Intel), Vadim Oganesyan (faculty, CUNY Staten
Island), Joseph Bhaseen
(currently at Cambridge), PCTS fellows Dr. Antonello Scardicchio (faculty
ICTP, Trieste) and Dr. Meera Parish (currently at Cambridge). I am currently collaborating actively with PCTS fellows Dr.
Dmitry Abanin and Dr. Bryan Clark.
