For the Screw dislocation, the Burgers vector and the Line vector are parallel.
A straight screw dislocation creates a helical configuration for the planes normal to the dislocation line. The position of atoms in the core region is also illustrated.
The screw dislocation can slip (glide) on those planes of the crystal that contain both b and t. The slip plane of a screw dislocation is, therefore, less well defined than that of an edge dislocation.
The plane indicated in red is just one of the possible slip planes.
