Selecting the Results to be Output

If processing options 1 or 2 were selected initially (see 2.1), the following questions are asked about how to process the results.

In response to the question:

>> PLEASE GIVE NUMBER OF RESULTS TABLES

The user responds with the number of results data blocks which have been written to the NASTRAN `OUTPUT2' file. For example, if either `OUGV1' or `OES1' have been output then the user enters `1'. If both have been output then the user enters `2'.

In response to the question:

>> DO YOU WANT AVERAGED STRESSES

The user responds `Yes' if the `OES1' data block is available and the user wishes these stresses to be averaged by the interface program. Otherwise the user responds `No'.

In response to the question:

>> DO YOU WANT ELEMENT-WISE RESULTS

The user responds `Yes' if he wishes element-wise vertex results to be passed to FEMVIEW. This applies to the following result types; Forces and Moments (data block `OEF1'), strains (data block `OSTR1') and stresses (data block `OES1'). Element-wise and Centroid results are mutually exclusive.

In response to the question:

>> DO YOU WANT CENTROID RESULTS

The user responds `Yes' if wishes element centroid results to be passed to FEMVIEW. This applies to the following result types; Forces and Moments (data block `OEF1'), strains (data block `OSTR1') and stresses (data block `OES1').

In response to the question:

>> DO YOU WANT QUAD4 AND TRIA3 RESULTS TO BE
       TREATED AS ELEMENT-WISE RESULTS

The user can respond `Yes' or `No'. If the response is `Yes' the centroid result value is copied to the vertices. This is useful if a colour raster display capable of panel-fill is available as these results can then be contoured.
