Introduction

In a far-flung train station, eight strangers wait for a train that never comes. From the moment they meet, they are no longer just passersby in each other's lives. They argue, they confide, and they listen to each other. But in the end, what ties their destinies together is the hope that none of them ever give up - the hope that one day, a train will stop for them and take them on their pursuits of their dreams. But how can their dreams ever begin if the train never stops?
Adapted from Xingjian Gao’s Bus Stop, Train Station takes you to a location where there’s only so little hope, and where time seems to take on an entirely new meaning.

Also in the play is the prologue, The Passer-By, by Lu Xun, where a man in his prime is hurt as he tries to move towards his destination. He stops when he can no longer move and must rest, where he meets an old man and his grand-daughter. They seem to have been around there for forever; they seem just as strange as the man; and they seem to add to the man’s internal struggle to move forward.

Directed by Zhong Ming Tan '13, Adapted from Station Gao Xingjian by Xiaoyang Long '12, Shiyao Gu '14, Quzhao Hu '12, Chengming Zhu '13 & Zhong Ming Tan '13
