This textbook is meant to provide advanced Chinese students with a broad range of topics to study, instead of focusing specifically on "Business Chinese" or specialized vocabulary. Students read contemporary short stories that reflect diverse facets of Chinese society. The thirteen stories included in this textbook have all been studied in Princeton University's advanced Chinese courses, and have been well-received by students and teachers alike.
Stories and vocab lists are provided in both simplified and traditional characters. Grammar notes and exercises, written in simplified characters, accomany each lesson.
