BodyHype Dance Company
is an independent, student-run dance company at Princeton University. Founded in 1991, BodyHype exists today
as one of the Princeton’s most successful
and captivating student organizations.
BodyHype embraces all forms of dance, including modern, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, tap,
salsa, and urban. We are known
for our professional bi-annual shows, and our numerous guest performances at
events on campus and around the Princeton
community. Our shows include
innovative, exhilarating choreography by current members, alumni, and
professional choreographers from New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco,
and Dallas.
BodyHype is home to some of Princeton’s
most dynamic and talented individuals. Ranging from professionally trained dancers to varsity athletes,
accomplished musicians and actors, our membership includes dancers with
extensive technical training from American Ballet Theatre, Walnut Hill,
Boston Ballet, and the Broadway Theatre Project, to those with little or no
dance experience.
To its members, BodyHype is much
more than a dance company. A
small, unified company, we are one of the closest families you will find on Princeton’s campus and we love to hang out with
one another as much as we love to dance and perform. BodyHype has given all of us
friendships and unforgettable memories that will last beyond our years at Princeton.
In order to gain a
better understanding of our diverse interests and backgrounds, we encourage
you to read our member profiles, check out FAQs page, browse through the
photo galleries, and come see a BodyHype
show. We perform for completely
sold-out audiences in Princeton’s
Theatre Intime every January and May.
We offer company auditions in early
September and February for any and all interested students!
