Slide Mount
A fairly simple translation stage, designed for holding the stage. A large force in holding the slide on seems to be adhesion from the water that inevitably gets on the slide.
Problems
- Originally, we simply drilled two holes for screws to hold the slide. We soon realized, however, that our guesstimate for where the screws should go was wildly inaccurate. Therefore, we:
- Tried milling out the holes into two long grooves. This proved to be largely unworkable too, since the lenses were close enough together that it was nearly impossible to adjust. Therefore, Dr. Romalis provided us with this adjustable stage that works much better.
