Focusing Lenses
These brought the size of the beam down to a size where the beads or bacteria could completely occlude them. Once we focused the interferometer with them moved out of the way, we put them back in and adjusted them so the beam went through them. Then we adjusted their relative distance so the focus was best.
Problems
- The translation mounts gave us problems because they were oriented such that we lacked the flexibility we needed in a given direction. We wound up twisting the two halves apart with a very large wrench and putting them back together so they were in the orientation we needed.
- The first time we tried to focus the interferometer we left the lenses in. It was impossible.
