Performance of Loki97

• Simple structure allows applications in low-end environments
  • Software data rates of 1Mb/s on Pentiums
  • Performed 12th out of the 15 AES submissions on Pentium Pro implementation [Schneir, et. al ‘99]
  • Bit-level permutations are currently relatively expensive in software -- Loki may be better suited to hardware implementations
