A letter from an alum about help-wanted ad in PAW March 21, 2004 The ad on page 6, for a University veterinarian, in your March 14 edition is perplexing. I cannot decide whether it purports to inform, amuse, or obfuscate. If by chance a key function is prevention of cruelty to laboratory animals, why not come right out and say so? And perhaps broaden the scope to include oversight of pets kept in dormitories? Meanwhile it is reassuring to be reminded that "salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience" and that Princeton remains an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. The ad as written is a masterpiece of claptrap designed to please bureaucrats and their appeasers. Charles H.G. Rees '45 Respond to
