A letter from a reader: A question about climate change

November 12, 2007:

Re "A greener world … a greener Princeton" (Oct. 10): A very intriguing article, and one that raises a number of questions. For example, I would be interested in learning what professors Socolow and Pacala foresee as climate conditions in 2055, should we continue on the emissions-doubling path. What probability would they assign to that outcome? Other than extrapolation from recent climate trends (the apparent Al Gore approach), how do they support their conclusions?
