A letter from a reader: Building to last a century or two

March 19, 2008:

In your Oct. 24 Notebook section, you showed a picture of the new Frank Gehry-designed building. The caption said that it was a picture of the building "under construction," but it looked for all the world like pieces of a building that had fallen down. On the preceding page was a spread about the 100th anniversary of venerable McCosh Hall (of happy memory to this English major). One can't help but wonder whether the Gehry gimcrackery will still be around when stately McCosh celebrates its 200th anniversary.
