LetterBox Letter from an alumnus about Iraq liberation being preposterous With all due respect, Edwin Fraley ’57’s assertions (Letters, Dec. 8) are preposterous. I wonder how the 18,000 Iraqi civilian casualties would respond to the “liberation” of Iraq, and to having been given “the gift of freedom”? Secondly, I strongly suggest that Mr. Fraley read the transcripts of the Abu Ghraib prisoner interviews. My guess is that he may have a different perspective on whether or not this episode was “blown way out of proportion.” This kind of thinking returned to office the worst and most impeachable president and cabinet since Andrew Johnson.
