LetterBox Letter from an alumnus about Recompense for Injustice I was riveted by the article about Laurie Lola Vollen '78 (Profile, April 6). I was always so delighted when an innocent party was found to be so -- even after many years in jail. I was horrified to learn that there was no monetary recompense for all those years in jail. Surely $5000 a year would not make up for hte injustice, but it would certainly help and keep the justice system on its toes. With DNA now in use, it shouldn't happen nearly as often, if ever.
