LetterBox Letter from an alumnus In praise of memorials I read with near-poetic interest the memorials (April 20) of two undergraduate members (Chip Evaul '78 and Tom Page '80), each of whom left before finishing with his entering class, and each of whom sadly also died some while back (June 2004 and May 2001, respectively). And yet the classes of each nobly took the time and effort to acknowledge and memorialize these good people. I find real decency and dignity in those paragraphs. Everyone who passes through Princeton (graduated or otherwise) contributes to the fantastic patchwork fabric that represents the place. There is something refreshing about acknowledging those whose lives came and went from the place, even if they were only there and played a role in it very briefly. Rocky Semmes '79 Alexandria, Va.
