This year the Princeton and Trenton ACS
sections jointly launched a new program - , Outstanding High
School Chemistry Teacher Award. The purpose of this award is to
recognize, encourage and stimulate teachers of high school
chemistry. Criteria for selection are: teaching quality,
ability to challenge and inspire students, willingness to keep
up to date in the field, evidence of leadership, and
extracurricular work in chemistry. We were very pleased with
the response our program. We received nominations of many
highly qualified teachers. It is gratifying to see that we have
so many talented and dedicated teachers in our area schools.
