Joining the Friends of Outdoor Action

The Friends of Outdoor Action is a support group made up of Princeton alumni, parents, current students, Outdoor Action Leader alumni, and other friends of the program. The Friends of OA supports the program on a yearly basis through annual membership dues. Members receive copies of Tiger Trails, the Friends of OA Newsletter, with information on current program activities and developments and early registration opportunities for OA Alumni Trip activities like the Mt. Princeton Climb.

Outdoor Action only receives a small operating budget from Princeton University. Your tax deductible contributions help support the OA leader training program, community service programs, and trip scholarships. To join, please fill out the Gift Form (PDF) and return it to:

Joining the Friends of OA Board

The Friends of Outdoor Action Board is a committed group of alumni and friends who serve as an advisory group to help Outdoor Action maintain its position as a leader in University outdoor education programs. The Board meets for full boar meetings three times a year (October, February and June). The board has several subcommittees.

  • Program Committee - this group will focus on OA’s ongoing program development including programs for alumni. The group will also meet periodically with the Program Committee of the Princeton Blairstown Center board, which is chaired by Warren Elmer.
  • Development Committee - this committee works on growing OA’s endowment funds and term funds to strengthen alumni support for OA.

You can help OA by joining as a member of the board. Members from distant locations communicate with other board members, through email and conference calls to the board meetings. Come share your enthusiasm and ideas with us! Send email to the Program Director, Rick Curtis '79 for more information or call the OA Office at 609-258-6230.
