When a thermodynamic system is isolated from its surroundings, the parameters describing the state of the system, (p, v, T, s, h, u, . . .) do not change in time. Such a system condition is said to be a state of thermodynamic equilibrium. A closed system coupled to its surroundings will also be said to be in thermodynamic equilibrium if its state parameters are time independent. | ||||||
