Beryllium
is a metal in group IIA of the periodic table with atomic number 4, an
atomic weight of 9.012, and a density of 1.85 Mg/m3.
Its melting point is 1277 C and it has a boiling point of 2770 C.
The electronic configuration of Beryllium is (1s2)(2s2). Its atomic radius is 0.112 nm. At room temperature Beryllium has a hexagonal crystal structure with a = 0.27 nm and c = 0.359 nm. The linear coefficient of thermal expansion is 11.52 m/m/K and the thermal conductivity is 2.01 W/cm/K. |
