Temperature-Entropy Diagram

A temperature-entropy diagram is shown
opposite. The orange region is the two-phase
zone and the cycle (1 -2s -3 -4 ) represents
the ideal cycle for the working fluid. The non-
ideal nature of the compressor takes the freon
to the point 2 after compression.
