Stirrer
The stirrer is run before,
during, and after the ignition of the sample in the bomb. It circulates the
water surrounding the bomb, ensuring a uniform temperature in the calorimeter
and good heat transfer to the thermometer measuring the temperature rise in
the system. Before coupling the stirrer to the stirring motor, rotate its
pulley by hand to make sure that it is running freely, then couple the two with
the rubber belt and start the motor. |
