This exercise takes the user though the various contouring facilities that are provided in FEMVIEW. The exercise begins by using line contours only, and shows how contouring can be specified by DATUM and LEVELS, by DATUM and STEP, by LEVELS, by VALUES, by FROM, TO and LEVELS, and by FROM, TO, and STEPS. Nodal results are used and smooth contours produced. The exercise then extends to cover CONTOUR FILL, and the colour modulation of edges controlled with the PRESENT OPTION CONTOUR EDGES command. Finally gauss-point results, and calculated results are used to produce contour pictures, showing typical discontinuities at element boundaries.
