Preface

This manual is a user guide to version 4.102 of the FEMGEN to ANSYS Interface Program. The software described in this manual is compatible with FEMGV versions 4 and above and ANSYS versions 5.0 and 5.1. The interface program is incorporated within FEMGEN and when the ANSYS environment is selected some of the FEMGEN menus will be altered in order to allow access to ANSYS data types.

This new release of FEMGV with the ANSYS interface incorporates the following new features:

• Selection of ANSYS element types by name on the command line and in the FEMGEN menus.
• Definition of constraints by name (e.g. X, RX etc.).
• Definition of prescribed degrees of freedom through a new 'PRESCRIBE' command.
• Definition of complex loading conditions.
• Definition of pressure and temperature loads from an external DPL file.
