Element Set Definitions

 

The interface creates various ABAQUS element sets based on FEMGEN part names or load names in order to define loads, physical properties etc. The automatic generation of ABAQUS element sets for every FEMGEN geometric part can be switched off by setting the resource *.model.element-set : NO (see Table 1.1).

It is also possible to create specific user-defined element sets. This is achieved by placing all geometric entities associated with the element set into a set whose name begins with the characters 'ELSET'. The remaining three characters of the set name can be any printable character. These element sets are transferred directly to the ABAQUS input file and are then available for general use should the user wish to edit the file.
